Below are the remaining reasons to move to Sequim according the upcoming Hot Air Balloon Festival
#5 Number of Festival Events
Most balloon events are pretty much an early morning and evening event. Not so with the Sequim Balloon Festival. Our 50 acres is going to be jam-packed with events from morning to night. It is definately a value that you can’t find anywhere else. See the list of events.
#6 The Olympic Peninsula
A million acres of the Peninsula is a park and the rest of it could be. It is truly one of the most beautiful areas in the world. Take a look at The 10 Best Days in Washington and see if this is a place worth visiting.
# 7 The People
If you live on the Peninsula the odds are you are an outdoor person that enjoys beauty. You also still carry the values of a friendly neighbor and a hard worker.
#8 Community Support
Everyone in Sequim is excited about hosting this annual event. You can tell by the number of events within the big event. Come and check out our hospitality.

Announcing the 1st Annual Hot Air Balloon Festival is pretty exciting. Since it will be in the back yard of Legacy Homes, I’d thought I’d share some of the information they discovered from their website. In the last blog I mention the first two popular reasons to move to Sequim. 1. The Weather and 2. The chances of rain the weekend of the balloon festival are low. Here are reason’s 3 and 4…
3. The Farmlands ~ Sequim is in the heart of the Dungeness Valley, the only farming community on the Olympic Peninsula. There are plenty of open spaces for balloons to land safety.
4. The Beauty ~The Dungeness Valley is roughly a 15 x 30 mile valley nesstled between the Olympic Mountains and the Strait of Juan de Fuca. The view from the balloon is nothing like your traditional balloon event.
Steve and I grew up in Sequim and Forks and know the area well. If you are planning a trip here, wanting to move to the Sequim area or thinking of building or remodeling we’d be happy to share our knowledge about the Sequim Community and it’s surrounding areas.

Sequim Hot Air Balloon Festival coming to a field near Legacy Homes! Labor Day Weekend September 2012

Exciting news to share. Steve and I were contacted today about assisting with the newest Sequim festival coming to our growing valley… First Annual Hot Air Balloon Festival. This high-flying event is going to be located right outside our back door. We are hoping to help host a hospitality suite or simply help facilitate emergency access to the field. Stop by and say hi… we’d be happy to answer any of your questions about Sequim and if you are moving here, we can help you with that too! Steve and I are native Sequimites and very knowledgeable about the Sequim area.
Here are the first two tips for “Why Sequim?”:
1. The Weather: Sequim is in the “Rain Shadow” of the Olympic Mountains. It receives less rain than most of California – 17″ a year, less than half of what Seattle receives.
2. The Wind & Rain on 9/1-2-3: Researching the wind on September 1, 2 & 3 for the last 31 years, out of those 93 days it has only rained twice and had wind over 10 mph twice during the morning times when balloons fly. So the odds are GREAT that balloons will fly.
If you’d like to know more about what is happening during the Hot Air Balloon Festival . . . visit their website at www.sequimballoonfestival.com . I don’t think you will be disappointed.

Nothing like waking up to your garage on fire. Whoa! Close call with a client of ours. Luckily only a bit of smoke damage in her utility room. The fire door saved her home.
Steve was able to remove all of the burned debris and replace a few posts, drywall, workbench, windows, etc. Now it looks like new! We worked well with the insurance adjuster and the project was completed in only a couple of months. With the help of a couple of our experienced sub-contractors, Discovery Bay Electric and Tru-Flow Plumbing the project was a success. The outcome, nice remodel, no sign of the fire and a very happy client. Need a reference? Need a contractor? Need a free quote or consultation? Give Steve Lamb a jingle. 360-460-5335.

Have you gone by Stymie’s yet at Cedars at Dungeness? WOW! The Christmas light display is amazing! The Olympic Peninsula is an incredible place to live and this time of year makes us really thankful for where we live. I’ve been fortunate enough to make a living by bringing dreams to reality and creating a life long legacy for families. I’d be honored to help you make your dream come true. Give Legacy Homes and Steve Lamb a jingle during or after the holiday season. I’ll be here.
